1987 Jeep Wrangler | Pictures | Page Me | Home

This is my self-indulgent web site. It's mostly just pictures of me and my family, and my passion for Jeeps.

I don't like just one type of vehicle. There's no one perfect car or truck that fits your entire lifestyle so don't let the ads fool you. If you own a truck or SUV, there will be times when you want a compact car so you can weave in and out of traffic, park in the smaller spots, and not pay a fortune in gas. When you drive your compact car everywhere, you will wish at times you had a luxury sedan so you don't have to constantly hear the motor, feel like your knees could operate the steering wheel just as easily as your hands, and carry everything home you just bought from the local home improvement store. The truth is, there is no auto that is all things to all people.

I might have found one vehicle however that comes close to being everything I need in a vehicle; a Jeep. I've become obsessed with Jeeps in the past few years. A Jeep just fits right in with what I need/want in transportation. I've sold off my other cars over time and now only roll in a Jeep. Between my fiance and I, we have owned 4 Jeeps.

I purchased my first Jeep in 1999, it was a 1987 Wrangler. It's the red Jeep in the right hand column of pictures (go ahead, click on the picture, I'll wait). I owned it for almost 5 years, replaced the interior, painted it, and drove it many times to the Florida Keys for a day trip of scuba diving or long weekend to get away. In June 2004 I traded it in for a silver 2004 Wrangler Rubicon. It's the top picture in the right hand column (no, I'll wait, go ahead). As with my '87, I modified it and customized it to reflect my personality. I sold this Jeep in June of 2007 but before I did, many of my local Jeep buddies bought the modifications from me to install on their Jeeps and the Rubicon was sold looking almost like a stock Jeep again. It comforts me when I see their Jeeps because I know a piece (actually several) of my Rubicon lives on with them. :)

In 2005, my wife (at the time she was my g/f) got tired of riding shotgun in my Jeeps and got herself an '05 Wrangler Unlimited. It's the blue Jeep in the right hand column. She customized it and won a "Top Ten" award at an annual Jeep show in Ocala that year.

In June of 2005, I siezed the opportunity to own my dream Jeep and what I modeled my own Rubicon after. It's the tan Jeep in the right hand column. This Jeep belonged to a very cool lady who became well-known throughout the Jeeping community after a video of her roll-over in Moab made it to the Internet. A 4x4 shop in Arizona built her a new highly-modified Jeep from the ground up to replace the one that was totalled. It then arrived in Florida where the original engineer of the OX locker upgraded the axles, installed new gears, Warn hub conversion, OX lockers, and put many other finishing touches on this Jeep to make it a one-of-a-kind. I'm very proud to own this Jeep and use it as it was designed for every chance I get. I'm still adding improvements to it (is a Jeep ever really "done"?) so check out the Jeep pictures section to see what I've been adding.

Besides the car stuff, I love scuba diving. I'm really trying to put that part of the site together 'cause I have a good number of pics at this point. I have the best dog in the world, dixie, who I rescued from the humane society when she was nine months old. She's very smart, affectionate, and barks at the right people and loves the rest.

Professionally, I've been in the IT world for 15+ years in the Internet technology and e-commerce areas. I'm a data center manager who's taking a break (from the 70 hour work weeks) to pursue my MBA. I hope to move back into management with IT-related responsibilities when I'm finished with graduate school. In the meantime, I use linux and vmware to dabble in OS integration and keep my technical skills somewhat sharpened.

And now for something political...

Doesn't matter what you see
Or to do with what you read
You can do it your own way
If it's done just how I say

Independence limited
Freedom of choice is made
   for you my friend
Freedom of speech is words
   that they will bend
Freedom with their. . .exception
Freedom no longer frees you

Well, that's the end of this page. Go ahead and click on something already.
